This picutre is awesome and so is the short article that mentions Molly and LAVA.
The Mirrors of Summer
The New York Times
July 16, 2006In the early part of the 20th century, Spiegeltents — ornate rotundas with stained-glass windows, beveled mirrors (“spiegel” is German for mirror), parquet floors and velvet canopies — traveled through Europe serving as mobile entertainment halls. Marlene Dietrich made her debut in one such “tent of mirrors” in the 1930’s. Today, the Kleesons, a Belgian family, own and operate SpiegelPalais, one of the few remaining examples. This summer it resides at the SummerScape Festival at Bard College (beetrock note: aside from holding wonderful performances, Bard College happens to be the alma mater of the infamous Jo-Anne Prud’homme – a dear friend who sporadically reads this blog when she is bored to death at work) in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y., where it shelters cabaret acts and theater performances through July 30. A similar tent, also owned by the Kleesons, is scheduled for a run of music and theater acts at the South Street Seaport, beginning Aug. 3.
