Apparently Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg used to frequent this place in the midst of the beat hay day. And though I will admit to, at one point, being an “On the Road” fan, Cedar’s attraction is far from literary. Giant pitchers of beer and greasy food make the place a total winner in my book. On my recent trip I noticed the presence of good whiskey and vodka – bottles gleaming seductively from the beautiful wood bar. Too bad I was on my way out! The tavern also has a second floor, where the bar is much smaller and the seating area is much larger, but the downstairs is definitely more cozy and fun. The place’s location puts it at access to alcohol thirsty NYU students, however the undesired contingency has never seemed too bothersome. Let’s hit it then, Jack!
